2nd Annual Bluebird Festival Parade Entry Form
Help kick off our Bluebird Festival! Saturday, April 17, 2010 Downtown Wills Point ~ 12 Noon
Let’s gather together to celebrate the uniqueness of our community, the Bluebird Capital of Texas, and kick off a wonderful week full of family oriented activities. All individuals, merchants, and organizations are encouraged to participate.
All entries will be allowed to provide and toss candy, gum and/or trinkets during the parade from North Street to WN Commerce St. just past the monument. SEE PARADE RULES.

All animal entries should be entered with caution and should expect loud noises associated with a parade.

PARADE RULES:
1. Parade line-up will be on a first come basis. (Large animal entries may be moved). No numbers will be assigned and entries will be lined up in order of arrival with the exception of the first and last parade entry. Parade chairperson will have final determination. 2. Parade line-up area will be announced the Friday prior to the parade and will depend upon the number of entries. Line-up will begin at 10:30 AM and will close at 11:45 AM when the last entry is put into place. 3. ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES CONSUMED BY DRIVERS OR ANY PARTICIPANTS BEFORE OR DURING THE PARADE IS EXPRESSLY FORBIDDEN! (Any driver or participant seen consuming alcohol or in possession of alcohol in the parade line-up or while driving the parade route will be immediately removed from the parade formation, and his/her actions will affect future invitations). 4. Autos and large vehicles must be driven by a licensed driver. Small vehicles (mini-bikes, small tractors, go-carts, etc.) must be operated by a person age 12 or older. All pets must be on leashes while in the parade. 5. Parade participants are not permitted to leave vehicles to demonstrate in any street or to stop or slow the forward movement of the parade in any way. 6. When disbanding, units shall not block the flow of traffic for participants behind. 7. Exceptions to these rules may be made only with the approval of the BBFA. 8. The BBFA is very proud of its longstanding reputation for quality, family-oriented entertainment; therefore, the Parade Committee retains the right to refuse entry of any float, unit or individual not conforming to the standards of the BBFA. Failure to comply with the parade rules may result in removal from the parade formation and will affect future invitations. 9. Articles (gum, candy, flyers, beads, etc.) may be tossed (gently), handed, or passed out by a representative of any float/vehicle. Please insure safety of children by being sure that all items are tossed a safe distance from all moving parade entries and avoid allowing parade guests to run out in the street to pick up items. 10. All parade entries should be CLEARLY marked with who the entry represents (whether a person, organization or business) and should be decorated in a way fitting with the Bluebird Festival Theme. 11. Parade will begin promptly at 12:00 Noon, rain or shine.

By signing this entry form, the responsible party for the parade entry:
1. Binds each person participating in the activity under the authority of this entry form to hold harmless from liability the Bluebird Festival Association, the BBFA Parade Committee, their officers, members, and the City of Wills Point and its’ designated officials in official or individual capacities, for property damage, personal injury or death arising from participating in the Bluebird Festival Parade; and 2. Agrees to provide each person participating under the authority of this entry form with a copy of this Disclaimer.
